WE LOST OUR GIANT

Grandpop,
I sit here in pain. Selfishly i wish for one more chat on your couch. One more chance to kiss the top of your head, hear your voice, and see your smile. To ride in the back of your pickup truck with the wind blowing on my face. One more chance to see you give Grandma a kiss. Watch you hold my son I named after you. Tirelessly plant your harvest only to give it away. To have one more chance to take in some of that wisdom you have shared with so many through the years. A chance to spend time with you in prayer. One more chance to hold your hand.
But i find comfort in the wisdom you shared with me years ago. You said that life on earth is very much like the wings on a bird…That we must go through highs and we must go through lows in order to complete our journey. I know not everyday was perfect for you, but still you pushed on to lift God's name and inspire everyone around you. Including me. So yes today my wings feel weighed down with sadness, but I find peace in knowing your wings have lifted you to a place of Glory. Where you will now forever glide with God's love as the wind under your wings.
I love you Grandpop.

  10. My sincere and deepest condolences, love, and prayers go out to you and your entire family. *crying* I remember you doing a blog post giving tribute to the Roberson roots and encouraging everyone to take time out to sit with our grandparents, great-grands, great aunts/uncles, just to listen to their stories of their journey, and digest the wisdom....it's a gift. Just remember, he lives within your son, within you, within your parents.....his spirit is right there within. Although it hurts your soul to not see him in the flesh, just remember everytime you kiss your son, hug your parents, and look in the mirror, he's right there.

I'll keep you in my prayers during this difficult time. One day at a time....praying for your continued peace and comfort. God is your strength. <3 Cam

  13. Wow Eric. Thanks for sharing a special personal piece of your heart. Losing anyone close is hard, but we (your fans)love you and I myself will lift you and your family in prayer. Grandpop is resting now and he is in a place that we can only dream of. I know that doesn't ease the pain, but maybe dull it just a tiny bit.

  26. Praying for You and Family. I Thessalonians 4:13-18 13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. -Cari C.

You don't know me however i am a fan and I am an artist. My mother passed April 20th, 9years ago...every element of my being is because of her as every element of your being, your manhood, your son is your grandfather...As he watches from the wings of heaven....you will shine and he will smile...and you will continue to touch all those in God's universe. Let every note from your voice and every word from your pen speak the words of his strength. Be blessed

  47. Eric,
Although we are distant relatives and have yet to meet I have had the privilege of sitting on that same hallway sofa to soak in "Dap's" wisdom and love at important times in my life. Both aunt Lourae and Dap have always been the most gracious host and hostess whenever I've come to visit. Like you, I'll miss his smile and uplifting personality. But he will always be loved and NEVER forgotten. I trust your memories will serve to stabilize and strengthen your heart in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
